Everyone has a first love and a favourite song. Can you remember yours?

Maybe it’s that catchy classic you can’t get out of your head. Or that dumb hit from a decade ago that makes you feel like a dumb teen again.

Or perhaps it’s that deep cut that always makes you cry, even though you never know why.

At Schemers Improv Nights No. 5: MODERN MIXTAPE! , we take your favourite songs and use them to inspire improv scenes.

First, add them to our MODERN MIXTAPE: https://open.spotify.com/user/11165611231/playlist/4rlBfAfkRvrwto65qpggnn

Then rock up at Aliwal on the 1st to see some epic musically-inspired comedy at SIN #5!

Want to watch an improvised scene inspired by the Nasi Lemak burger? Or a scene deriving from Melissa McCarthy… oops, we mean Sean Spicer’s resignation? Or one that tells you yoga may exacerbate injuries and improv improves cardiovascular health*?

The Company Players proudly presents Hot Off The Press!

Come join us this Saturday (29 July), 8pm at The Improv Den (62B South Bridge Road) as our improvisers use current-day newspaper articles as a source of inspiration for our improvised scenes. At only $15, let us make you laugh and hopefully think about what a happy and calming world we live in as we put a comedic spin on these current affairs!

Audience members are highly encouraged to bring a newspaper clipping of their choice.

*improv does not actually improve cardiovascular health that we know of, but studies on the link are definitely underway
